CompTIA and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

Microsoft accepts CompTIA certifications as an alternative to passing an elective exam in the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification.

The MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification validates the skills of professionals who implement, manage and troubleshoot network and system environments based on the Microsoft Windows 2000 platform. Key areas tested for in the MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification include installing and configuring parts of the systems and administering and supporting the systems.

The MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification is appropriate for:

• Network Administrators

• Systems Administrators

• IT Engineers

• Information Systems Administrators

• Network Technicians

• Technical Support Specialists

MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000 candidates are required to pass three core exams and one Microsoft elective exam. The elective exam requirement can also be satisfied with a combination of two CompTIA certifications : A+ and either Network+ or Server+. Once you've earned two of these CompTIA certifications, you are well on your way to achieving the MCSA certification.
